Bit by bit it's taking shape: our new winery. At the beginning it was just a big hole. Gradually we are able to discern the shape of the building.
Every evening the men of Domaine La Grange gather around the construction site to examine the progress. Unfortunately I don't always understand everything they say, but it's obvious that good advice abounds.
The winery is composed of big blocks of natural stone. They are custom-taylored at delivery and it looks rather impressive when these huge blocks waft through the air to then be fitted tightly into the already existing structure. It reminds me of Legos, just a bit bigger.
Our next harvest will already be processed in this new winery and we are convinced this will be another step up the ladder for us.
Rolf has already chosen the interior fittings; the new bottling plant, the labelling machine and many more things will be delivered very soon - after tough negotiations. I have been told that some of the suppliers want to avoid german winemakers in the future.
