A spring surprise: four medals for La Grange

It's no secret to the wine world anymore that women have a more highly developed sense of taste than men.

The professionals of this field - the winemakers, oenologists, sommelières and merchants - come together once a year for the wine contest 'Féminalise' and taste more than 4000 wines from all over the world. The ladies were so pleased with our La Grange wines that they awarded us with four medals:

Icône 2012, from our top line Castalides was awarded a gold medal.

Castalides Édition 2012 and Terroir Syrah 2012 were awarded a silver medal each.

Castalides Réserve 2012 was awarded the bronze medal.

We think these women have excellent taste!

La Grange - a Grand Crus de Languedoc

There are infinite Grand Cru locations at Bordeaux but very few in Languedoc. One of these select locations is AOP Pézenas and La Grange is proud ot be part of it. This means that we grow wines of exceptional quality in our vineyards, which, of course, we knew all along. That is the reason why we have won so many medals and awards already: 29 gold and 28 silver medals since 2010. Results we are proud of.

Awards for our wines

The independent wine guide 'Guide Hachette' evaluates a large number of different wines from France, Luxembourg and Swizerland each year.

Only the very best wines receive the coveted Guide Hachette awards. The Guide Hachette 2014 has awarded two stars to our 'La Grange Castalides Édition 2011'! This wine's intense bouquet convinced the jury with it's mix of cassis, blackberry and a hint of licorice and menthol. It is fruity and has a very round and pleasant aftertaste that goes well with meat dishes.

But Guide Hachette are not the only ones to like our Édition. Gilbert & Gaillard awarded four medals to our wines. The fruity Chardonnay Terroir 2012, our Cabernet Sauvignon Terroir 2011, the Édition Castalides 2011 and our Réserve 2011 all received a gold medal from Gilbert & Gaillard. Édition Castalides 2011 has also received two silver medals from the prestigious Concours Mondial in Brussels. We are very pleased about these awards and we hope that you will enjoy our wines as much as the juries did.

Gold for La Grange !

Awards are very much appreciated by producers and retailers alike because, in a way, they are proof of good taste and quality. In the vast competition we experience in our market, they distinguish our wines from others' and helps us vis-à-vis our clients.

The Berliner Wine Trophy is a prestigious international award, bestowing bronze, silver and gold medals to selected wines since 1994. These days, up to 6000 different wines are being submitted to a jury of wine specialists every year.

Looking at the number of entries, we are proud to have been awarded two gold medals for our wines this year.

Our La Grange Classique Rosé 2012 and the Terroir Merlot ‘Pabiro’ VdP d’Oc 2012 apparently pleased and convinced them of the merits of La Grange.
To us, these two gold medals are proof and confirmation that we are on the right path. We strive to bring you the best possible wines La Grange can offer every year.
